July 2022

From 1 July 2022, we reduced the fixed weekly (dollar-based) administration fee for most members.

The merger of QSuper and Sunsuper to become Australian Retirement Trust on 28 February 2022 also resulted in some costs, which are expected to be offset by long-term benefits provided to members.

From 1 July 2022, we also changed:

  • How we disclose fees and costs to members to meet new government regulations designed to make superannuation fees and costs more transparent and easier to compare
  • Some asset class names and strategic asset allocations
  • Performance benchmarks for certain asset allocations
  • Certain investment option objectives
  • The Unique Superannuation Identifier (USI) for all Super Savings accounts, and
  • Access details for our 2020–21 member outcomes assessment.

We also summarised recent changes to the law that might impact members, with links to online resources for more information.

January 2022

Sunsuper and QSuper merged to form Australian Retirement Trust in 2022. This significant event notice was to let members know that the merger would happen on 28 February 2022.

As part of the merger, we transferred members' Sunsuper accounts to Australian Retirement Trust. Sunsuper for life accounts became Super Savings accounts, so we explained what changed with account details, insurance, and investments.

We told members the key dates to process changes on their account before the merger, and how the merger might change things like insurance claims, complaints in progress, services, and accessing your account (e.g. Member Online login details).

We gave an update about how Sunsuper would apply changes in the law for penalties against superannuation trustees.
